Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa: Policies & Procedures

It is our intention to provide our guests with a professional and therapeutic spa experience. 

The following policies & procedures serve as a guide for first time & regular spa guests of Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONVERSATION
The discussion between the spa professional and the guest is confidential. The guest may or may not choose to talk during the service.
All files that are in regard to a client at Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa is confidential and will not be released unless the guest completes a release form.

INFORMED CONSENT
Prior to each spa service, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. At your first visit you will complete the Guest Intake Form and will be asked to sign the consent form stating " I have read a Massage Therapist’s scope of practice & I understand that this massage is not a replacement for medical care & no diagnosis will be made. I release my therapist and the associated business from all liability concerning any injury or damages that may occur during/after my massage. I have read, clearly understand & agree to comply with Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa’s Client Policies & Procedures."

PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES
Requests for sexual activity will not be tolerated, will be viewed as solicitation, and reported to the proper authorities; the client will not be rescheduled if this occurs. The breast and genital area will not be touched under any circumstances. Permission will be asked before working close to these areas; otherwise a professional distance will be maintained. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the guest and the spa professional is NEVER appropriate. On rare occasions an involuntary sensual response to massage is natural and will subside on its own in a few moments. We do not perform spa services on anyone under the age of 18 without an Informed Consent Form signed by a Parent or Legal Guardian.

APPOINTMENT SCHEDULING
Call us at (813) 731-6111 to book your appointment or book online.
- Everyone must pay a deposit or hold a card on file to book their appointment(s). Deposits must be paid within 12 hours after booking or your appointment will be removed from our schedule.We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 1 day before the beginning of your appointment or you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of your service. All spa services have a specific time schedule; Services include 50 minute or 80 minute hands-on service & time allotted for dressing & consultation.

ARRIVAL TO YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please plan for your spa professional to arrive to your appointment 15 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. This allows you the time to fill out the appropriate client forms (new clients), change and prepare for your spa service. All spa services have a specific time schedule and early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience. 


PARKING

It is not Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa's responsibility to make guest parking arrangements; this must be taken care of ahead of time by the client.

APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION POLICY

-Please cancel or re-schedule your appointment within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment time.

Everyone must pay a deposit or hold a card on file to book their appointment(s). Deposits must be paid within 12 hours after booking or your appointment will be removed from our schedule.We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hrs. before the beginning of your appointment or you will be charged a cancellation fee of 50% of the cost of your service(s), if your card declines, you will be required to pay your balance and a non-refundable deposit before you book another appointment(s) in the future. All spa services have a specific time schedule; Services include 20 minutes, 50 minutes or 80 minutes hands-on service & 10 minutes allotted for dressing & consultation.


EXISTING & NEW MEDICAL CONDITIONS
It is the responsibility of the guest to keep the spa professional informed of any medical treatment currently being taken, and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc. that the spa service may be continued. The guest must also keep the spa professional informed of any changes in health conditions.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE
Massage Therapist: Licensed Massage Therapist are held to the highest standards of the American Massage Therapy Association. Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjudicative therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor's supervision. The Massage Therapist is required to refer you for diagnosis and to follow recommendations of your physician.

RESPECT FOR CLIENTS NEEDS AND BOUNDARIES
Spa Professionals are happy to adjust pressure, temperature, musical volume, work longer on an area or move on if you request it. For spa services that may require undressing- The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any spa service methods, stop the spa service at any time and is free to ask the spa professional to leave the room at any time. For spa services that require undressing, the guest will always be modestly draped, only the area being worked on will be un-draped. Occasionally, an emotional response to spa services may occur , if this happens, it is okay to express the feelings in our safe, nonjudgmental environment - or you may request privacy and end the session; you are in control.

Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa is not responsible for loss or damage to personal articles including clothing or accessories.

FORMS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED
Heavenly Hands Massage Therapy & Spa is happy to accept MasterCard, Cash & Our Company's Gift Cards. We do not accept personal checks.

ATTIRE & HYGIENE
During a session at Heavenly Hands you, the client is expected to be clean and hygienic. Additional grooming of excessive body hair may be necessary for optimal treatment. Body lotions should not be applied between bathing and your appointment for an optimal treatment. Your appointment may be stopped and rescheduled if any of the mentioned attire or hygiene guidelines are not adhered to. If the area that needs treatment has hair that is too long, trimming or shaving hair may be required for therapy to be effective, and the session may be rescheduled.

ILLNESS
It is my experience that if someone is getting sick and is possibly contagious, we do not recommend receiving massage therapy and may re-schedule your appointment. Massage is reported to strengthen the immune system, but after weakening and compromising it. Receiving a massage when you are not in the recovery part of being sick with a cold or other common illness may make it considerably worse.
